An expedition team discovers the ruins of an ancient city on the deep ocean floor. When almost the entire crew disappears, a detective tries to find the missing puzzle piece.

“He looks like he is about to faint,” the captain said.

“Mr. Turner is still recovering from the flu. I’ll try to get as much of the story as possible from him before I tell him what happened to the crew and the expedition team,” Detective Morgan answered and went into the interrogation room.

He activated the recorder, made sure the ventilation was active, lit a cigarette and sat down on the uncomfortable chair. On the only other chair in the small room, across a battered grey table, sat a pale, young man. His face was framed by shoulder-length, oily, auburn hair and decorated by patchy three-day stubble and dark rings below the eyes.
